ABOUT THE TUSCAN SUN FESTIVAL

The Tuscan Sun Festival is a Festival of international renown that takes place in Tuscany, Italy.  Established as the region’s premiere arts event, the programme offers an exciting range of world class concerts and a daily programme of events that explores the best in music, visual arts, culinary and wine, literature, film and local culture.

Founded in 2003 by Barrett Wissman, cellist Nina Kotova and author of Under the Tuscan Sun, Frances Mayes, the Festival has matured into an eagerly anticipated annual event that continues to be artist-led while simultaneously embracing the proud spirit of the Tuscan community.  Regularly presenting world-class musicians and actors, the Festival became the first event of its kind to provide such a platform and combine it with a pure celebration of life so abundant in Tuscany.

Entering its 10th year, IMG Artists brought the Tuscan Sun Festival to Florence from its original base in Cortona, Tuscany, to establish a major presence in the city’s annual cultural calendar. Timed to take place after Maggio Musicale and immediately before Pitti Immagine, the Tuscan Sun Festival brought a programme of leading international classical artists, actors and chefs to the city in a celebration of the festival’s widely celebrated combination of music, theatre, art and cuisine. Working in tandem with some of Florence’s most important venues and presenting bodies, the festival represented another step in the city’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading cultural and high-value consumer destination.
